My freeroll package states that I have won cash for travel - how will I be credited with this cash?
The cash will be transferred to the poker room account in which you won your freeroll/satellite.

 

What if I cannot/choose not to attend? Can I sell my package? Can my friend take my place?
As per our freeroll Terms & Conditions*, no part of your package is exchangeable/transferable/refundable for cash. If you cannot attend, the package will be given to the second place finisher.

 

Who books my flights?
You will be booking your own flights. PokerNews will arrange your hotel accommodation and Event entry/entries.

 

I do not live in Australia - how do I find further information on obtaining a visa to Australia?
Please see our 'Travelling to Melbourne' section and we also highly recommend you speak to your travel agent/immigration department.

 

Can I bring my girlfriend/sister/brother/friend along to the event?
Yes, you are allowed to bring a guest to stay with you during the event as the hotel allows for two per room.

 

What if I decide to change my travel dates?
We have received word from the hotel that they are fully booked outside your package dates. Should you wish to stay longer/arrive earlier, you will need to source your own accommodation. We recommend using www.hotelclub.com.au or www.expedia.com.au.

 

Are meals or anything else included in the accommodation?
No, your accommodation only covers your room. You will be reponsible for covering any incidentals throughout your stay.

 

Does Crown Promenade Hotel have a pool and gym?
Yes, during your stay you will enjoy complimentary use of the 25 metre heated indoor infinity lap pool, spa pool, sauna and steam facilities and a fully equipped gymnasium located on Level 3 at The Deck.

 

Will my hotel room have Internet access?
Yes, Crown Promenade's room Internet access is charged at AUD25 for 24 hours. This is a flat rate.

 

What are Crown Promenade's check in and check out times?
Check in is at 2:00 p.m. and check out is at 11:00 a.m.

 

Will a credit card be required at check in?
Yes, as hotel policy, a credit card is required upon check in to guarantee all incidentals. If you do not charge anything to your room, do not purchase anything, etc. - the hotel will not charge anything to your card.

My flight arrives late the day I am due to check in, what should I do?
This will not be a problem, but you must notify Trish Teoh so that she can make sure the hotel does not release your room.

 

Will there be a shuttle to pick us up from the airport?
No, you will need to make your way to the hotel from the airport yourself. Please see our 'Travelling to Melbourne' section for a variety of public transport options.

 

My flight departs at night and I have to check out of the hotel that morning, is there somewhere I can store my bags?
Yes, Crown Promenade provides a luggage storage service available at no cost to you. Please speak to Reception when you check in and they can provide you with further information. This will enable you to leave your bags while you do a bit more sight seeing before having to depart to the airport.

 

If I chose not to attend the cruise/tour/party, can I get that refunded and put towards entry to an additional event?
No, as no part of the package is exchangeable/transferable/refundable for cash.

Can I bring my girlfriend to the party?
Yes, your invite to the Official PokerNews Cup Australia Player Party covers two people.

Will there be food provided at the party?
Yes, finger food and drinks will be provided.

 

How do I collect the invite for the party?
Your invite will be included in the Welcome Pack provided to you when you meet with us (further details will be provided via email at a later date).

 

Can I bring my girlfriend to the river cruise and animal sanctuary tour?
Yes, if your package includes these extras, your girlfriend is more than welcome to attend as these extras cover two people.

 

My package involves an invite to the river cruise and animal sanctuary tour, and I/my guest has a significant food allergy, who do I inform?
Please notify Trish Teoh so that she can let the restaurant know.

 

Do I have to attend the party, cruise and sanctuary tour?
No, these extras are not compulsory, but we would love for you attend as it gives you a great opportunity to get to know the rest of the Team and to simply have a good time.

 

How do I collect my Event entry/entries?
Further information will be provided when you meet us at the hotel (Dates and times will be provided to you via email at a later date).

 

How will our PokerNews clothing be given to us?
You will be given a Welcome Pack when you meet us at the hotel (Dates and times will be provided to you via email at a later date).
This pack will include a short sleeved polo shirt, a cap, a card protector, a map of Melbourne, and the Official Player Party invite.

Will the poker room be sending clothing?
Not all poker rooms send clothing, however, should yours decide to send merchandise, that will be provided to you when you meet with us.

 

Will I be required to wear the clothing?
YES, you must wear PokerNews/the poker room clothing when playing in all events included in your package or in all events for which you have been sponsored by PokerNews/the poker room. There is no exception to this.

 

What is Crown Casino's dress code?
No slippers/bare feet/singlets allowed.

 

What will the weather be like in Melbourne during the PokerNews Cup?
October is spring time in Melbourne and the weather is cool with an average minimum of 10 Degrees Celcius (50 Farenheit) and a maximum of 20 Degrees Celcius (68 Farenheit). The city experiences occassional rainy days but enjoys many bright sunny days. For further information, visit the Bureau of Meteorology.

 

I'd like to do a bit of sight seeing in between my time at the tables, how can I obtain further information?
Your Welcome Packs will include a coloured map of Melbourne and a list of tourist booths, visitor contacts, public transport information and main city attractions. Further information can also be obtained by visiting the Concierge located in the lobby of Crown Promenade hotel.
